Student Support Group
Each year, the school health program has organized an annual student health conference for high school students from both public and private high schools. The purpose of the conference is to educate students on HIV/AIDS, alcohol and substance use, teen pregnancy, and other youth health related problems. At the end of conference, participants are expected to: a) have an action plan developed, b) prepare a presentation to be shown in their schools on what they learned.
This year the program is looking forward to hosting its 6th annual conference, and is expecting more than one hundred student participants and ten high school teachers. Facilitators for the conference are former high school health club members who have graduated from high school and are presently attending college. Resources and support staff come from our various stakeholders as part of our collaboration with other government and non-government agencies.
